Things to Do In Springfield

Recreational Areas
The waters around Springfield produce a Bass Haven. You'll also find Walleye, Sauger, Northern, Crappie, Bluegills, and Catfish. Hunters will find an abundance of deer, ducks, geese, and turkey. You might even spot a few bald eagles while you are fishing near the Bluffs and Bottom Road!!!!
Visitors enjoy camping, boating, kayaking, canoeing, picnicking and fishing at this 45-acre state maintained recreation area where unique river scenery awaits. Facilities include 22 campsites most with Electricity, Showers, Dump Station, 2 Camping Cabins, Playground, Picnic Shelter, Fishing Dock, and Fish Cleaning Station. Terrace Park
Terrace Park sits atop a high bluff overlooking Lewis and Clark Lake of the Missouri River. The park allows those following the Lewis and Clark Trail an opportunity to explore nature and view the Mighty Mo from a picturesque spot. Visitors to Terrace Park will see a Lewis and Clark informational kiosk.
A memorial has been added to Terrace Park dedicated to lost brothers who served their country, to remember and honor them. Springfield is full of Brothers in Arms. Springfield Museums
The Springfield College Museum is a repository of a vast array of artifacts from its beginning in 1896 until the time of its closing in 1984. Through the kindness and generosity of businesses, donors and graduates, the museum houses over 2,000 items that show the success of this innovative institution.
The Springfield Historical Society Museum is home to a wide variety of artifacts that are unique to the area and specifically to the city of Springfield. This museum displays a pioneer home which is a reconstructed six-room house and a Model Main Street that depicts many of the types of businesses that were needed in a small town. There are so many historical collections, too many to mention, and is on the list of the must see when visiting Springfield, SD.

Talsma’s Trail Park
Join in the fun and adventure of trail riding along the Missouri River at Talsma's Trail Park on the Trails End Ranch. This trail park has several hundred acres of designated trails for all to enjoy which range from easy to extreme.
These are primitive trails which are open to ATV / UTV, dirt bikes, mountain bikes and horses. Please read park guidelines prior to planning your trip! Springfield Golf Club
The Springfield Golf Club is 9 hole layout known as the Pebble Beach of South Dakota as it's resting on a bluff above the Missouri River at the Lewis and Clark Lake. It's located in Springfield about an hour west of Yankton and 2 hours southwest of Sioux Falls just north of the Nebraska state line.
The layout's fairways are defined by trees with a modest amount of sand bunkers and water hazards in play as it moves over a mix of rolling and level terrain with postage stamp-sized greens. It features a special cabin clubhouse sitting on a hill overlooking the River with views for miles. The course was built in the mid-1980s by the locals who also help maintain it today.
